We want to say a massive thanks to, Tersus, Axis Housing and Cosyseal Group who have all supported families to restart their lives by providing them with the key essentials needed for a new arrival. Many victims of domestic abuse flee their homes and leave with nothing, so to be able to provide 7 parents with baby items such as cots, clothing, nappies and toiletries is amazing and will make such a difference to their lives.
One Domestic Abuse Support Officer in Kent said, "I spoke to our pregnant lady who is due in two weeks, she is overwhelmed with gratitude as she was worrisome of the financial burden these necessary items for her beloved child - especially as she is low on income."
We have partnered with Clarion to provide refuge accommodation and specialist counselling services for those fleeing domestic violence. In the past 24 months, our ‘Thrive counselling’ service have, provided much needed support to 185 survivors of domestic violence. Survivors have accessed our specialist one-to-one trauma informed and creative counselling.
Those who engage with the process reported experiencing significant change such as; improvement in key relationships, reduction in trauma and anxiety symptoms, increase in confidence and self-esteem.
